
Legal Billing Analyst – 2nd Shift

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Mexico.
• Generate and distribute prebills and proformas.
• Assist with the processing at the end of the month.
• Draft various forms of correspondence.
• Execute time and expense transfers and necessary edits.
• Create reports as required.
• Ensure timely billing management.
• Allocate any unapplied funds appropriately.
• Carry out write-offs and cancellation processes.
• Post and mail invoices to clients.
• Prepare invoices for attorneys and clients, which may include fixed fee, batch, retainer, and contingency billing.
• Verify the accuracy of work products and determine suitable billing formats.
• Prepare spreadsheets and additional billing documents as needed.
• Manage client billing requirements and guidelines efficiently.
• Have a clear understanding of firm and client fee arrangements.
• Prepare bills for electronic processing.
• Coordinate necessary changes related to clients and matters.
• Edit time-entry narratives and perform proofreading tasks.
• Assist clients with billing inquiries and troubleshoot any issues that arise.
• Review and edit time entries to ensure compliance with client guidelines.
• Create and maintain spreadsheets for tracking and monitoring functions.
• Complete special projects as assigned by management.
• Address client-specific billing requirements while managing alternative billing arrangements in accordance with company policies.
• An Associate's Degree or higher, preferably with a focus in Business, Accounting, or Finance.
• Relevant experience may be accepted in place of formal education, depending on the candidate’s overall work history.
• A minimum of two years of billing experience in a law firm or professional organization is required.
• Familiarity with client Document Management Systems (DMS) is essential.
• Proficiency in creating spreadsheets, data manipulation, and report generation.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Capacity to multitask and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
• Ability to work effectively within a team while also managing individual assignments.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present results to senior management effectively.
• Capability to perform well in a cross-functional environment, interfacing successfully with senior management, vendors, and client staff.
• Skill in handling sensitive matters professionally and with confidentiality.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Experience with Aderant or Elite/Elite 3E and/or business intelligence tools is highly preferred.
• Proficiency with 10-key calculators is strongly preferred.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment background check and drug screening is required.
