Learning Environment Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Oversee education space requests from start to finish, which includes analyzing blueprints, understanding enrollment and program requirements, and creating 2-D and 3-D designs.

• Choose furniture, storage solutions, carpets, and additional materials for both indoor and outdoor classroom settings.

• Integrate best practices for development while considering budget limitations and spatial constraints.

• Generate drawings, renderings, and design outputs for educators, administrators, and internal teams.

• Utilize knowledge of early childhood and K–12 curricula and standards to accommodate diverse learning needs.

• Collaborate with colleagues to communicate Lakeshore's vision to educational stakeholders.

• Address stakeholder inquiries and embody Lakeshore's educational philosophy.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in classroom teaching, curriculum development, or a related educational field.

• Proven capability to read and interpret architectural blueprints or floor plans, or equivalent experience in educational space planning.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.

• Comfortable with learning design or specification software such as CAP/CET Designer.

• Bachelor’s degree in education, interior design, environmental design, or a related discipline — or equivalent practical experience.

• Ability to work remotely and independently while managing multiple project requests with strong follow-through.

• Preferred: Practical experience in space planning, furniture specification, or creating learning environments.

• Preferred: Knowledge of Lakeshore's early learning or K–12 product offerings.
