Learning Engineer

📋 Description

• Create and implement educational solutions informed by research in learning science and educational technology.

• Independently manage intricate design projects with small, agile teams.

• Develop thorough testing methodologies for strategic efforts, which include protocols, instruments, measurement frameworks, hypotheses, success criteria, and decision-making points.

• Collaborate with prototype teams to transform instructional strategies and design challenges into experiments, iterations, and production-ready recommendations.

• Transform applied research and emerging literature regarding AI, assessment, student engagement, and learning science into pilot designs, test plans, and operational playbooks.

• Employ methodological rigor in pilot and prototype testing.

• Incorporate research-driven practices for diverse learner populations and promote personalization.

• Assess faculty needs across various faculty models.

• Integrate comprehensive, aligned, and valid assessment methods.

• Create technical specifications and use cases for learning technology.

• Work with user testing teams utilizing user testing, learner analysis, and feedback mechanisms.

• Assist development and continuous improvement teams in implementing design models.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to document and scale proposed learning solutions.

• Maintain a focus on sustainability, scalability, feasibility, affordability, and accessibility.

• Partner with internal and external experts on generative AI advancements for online learning.

• Undertake other assigned duties and responsibilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of six years’ experience in instructional technology, instructional design, educational research, online program management, or a related field.

• Bachelor’s degree in educational technology, instructional design, curriculum design, or educational psychology.

• Equivalent experience cannot substitute for a degree.

• Proven experience in designing and conducting pilots, prototype evaluations, applied research activities, or experiments in the education sector.

• Experience in developing test protocols, evaluation instruments, success metrics, quantitative analysis, and evidence-based recommendations.

• Extensive practical knowledge and experience with LMS systems, courseware platforms, and authoring/design tools such as Articulate and Adobe.

• Familiarity with online learning models, ideally in competency-based programs and/or alternative learning pathways.

• Strong presentation and facilitation skills with senior-level stakeholders.

• Adaptability to changing deadlines and project priorities.

• Demonstrated experience leading diverse projects and teams.

• Must reside in and work from one of the approved states.

• A reliable internet connection and a well-equipped workspace free from distractions are required.
