
Lead Technician – Blade

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kansas.
• Oversee contractor teams for GE Vernova blade repairs and carry out repairs at laydown yards.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives during blade repair and inspection activities.
• Adhere to safety policies, protocols, and the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Promote proactive safety initiatives and conduct on-site risk evaluations.
• Coordinate responses to safety incidents in collaboration with EHS, Operations, HR, and other GE Vernova departments.
• Supervise or execute repair procedures while verifying checklist and procedural compliance.
• Modify repair schedules according to job phases and weather conditions.
• Ensure the availability of parts, tools, materials, procedures, and PPE.
• Facilitate effective communication between site teams and GE Vernova departments.
• Manage daily operations and team performance in relation to set targets.
• Perform repair tasks directly when team members are unable to complete them.
• Collaborate with the Site Manager to ensure smooth operations and project completion.
• Act as the primary point of contact for on-site repair teams and provide updates on repair progress.
• Maintain clear and timely project communications.
• Keep up-to-date with training, certifications, and compliance to applicable standards.
• Maintain accurate records of site activities and progress.
• Utilize Microsoft Office and Smartsheet for reporting and coordination purposes.
• Communicate daily with the GE Vernova Site and Project Manager.
• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution OR a High School Diploma/GED with at least 3 years of experience in blade repairs.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in blade repairs.
• Willingness and ability to travel between Pawnee and Garden City laydown yards.
• Current training and certifications equivalent to a standard technician.
• Adherence to all relevant standards and regulations.
• Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Office and Smartsheet.
• Ability to work independently and effectively lead teams.
• Strong communication and coordination abilities.
• Proven leadership skills and ability to motivate a team.
• Proactive in problem-solving.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing work conditions and environments.
• Strong dedication to safety and quality standards.
• Excellent customer service abilities and effective client relationship management.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Successful completion of a drug screening, if applicable.
