
Lead Technician – Blade

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kansas.
• Oversee GE Vernova blade repair contractor teams and carry out repairs at laydown yards.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives throughout the blade repair and inspection processes.
• Uphold safety policies, protocols, and the appropriate use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Promote proactive safety measures and perform on-site risk evaluations.
• Coordinate responses to safety incidents with EHS, Operations, HR, and other GE Vernova departments.
• Supervise or carry out repair procedures while verifying adherence to checklists and protocols.
• Modify repair pacing according to the various job phases and prevailing weather conditions.
• Ensure that teams are equipped with the necessary parts, tools, materials, procedures, and PPE.
• Facilitate effective communication between site teams and GE Vernova departments.
• Manage daily operations and assess team performance against established targets.
• Directly perform repair tasks if teams are unable to complete them.
• Collaborate with the Site Manager to align operations for successful project delivery.
• Act as the primary site liaison for repair teams and provide updates on repair progress.
• Ensure transparent and timely communication regarding project status.
• Maintain technician-level training and certifications, ensuring adherence to standards.
• Keep precise records of site activities and progress.
• Utilize Microsoft Office and Smartsheet for reporting and coordination.
• Communicate daily with the GE Vernova Site and Project Manager.
• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution OR High School Diploma/GED with a minimum of 3 years of experience in blade repairs.
• At least 2 years of experience specifically in blade repairs.
• Willingness and ability to travel between Pawnee and Garden City laydown yards.
• Current training and certifications equivalent to those of a regular technician.
• Compliance with all applicable standards and regulations.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Smartsheet.
• Capability to work independently and effectively lead teams.
• Strong communication and coordination abilities.
• Proven leadership skills and a capacity to motivate teams.
• Proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing work environments and conditions.
• Strong commitment to maintaining safety and quality standards.
• Excellent customer service skills and the ability to manage client relationships effectively.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States.
