This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.
β’ Lead the Substation Engineering team by providing project leadership.
β’ Oversee engineering activities related to projects.
β’ Create general arrangements for substations.
β’ Develop layout plans and sections for control houses.
β’ Design grounding systems, lightning protection, conduit/trench layouts, material lists, and construction specifications.
β’ Conduct calculations for grounding, lightning protection, voltage drop, AC/DC load studies, and other related studies and reports.
β’ Assist and coordinate engineering and design efforts concerning civil and structural elements of designs.
β’ Collaborate with the Protection Control Engineering team.
β’ Offer guidance and mentorship to the engineering and design team.
β’ Execute quality control and assurance reviews.
β’ Support projects from initial scoping through to final design and project closure.
β’ Provide assistance during the construction phase.
β’ Maintain a strong focus on client service and customer satisfaction.
β’ A Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
β’ Professional Engineering Licensure (PE) is mandatory; candidates with Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) on the path to obtaining PE licensure will be considered.
β’ At least ten (10) years of experience in the electric utility sector.
β’ Direct involvement in substation projects for electric utilities.
β’ Experience in utility substation engineering, particularly focusing on electrical or physical design aspects.
β’ Strong project management skills with the ability to adhere to tight deadlines.
β’ Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation is advantageous.
β’ Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
β’ Capacity to engage with clients and collaborate with other disciplines.
β’ A proactive team player capable of instilling client confidence.
