This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Act as the technical authority for the squad, serving as the point of contact for demand flow, performing technical triage, clearing obstacles for the team, and establishing standards and quality benchmarks.
• Guarantee technical uniformity, quality, security, and maintainability of all deliverables.
• Promote the technical independence of the team through thorough documentation, delegation, and clear decision-making criteria.
• Ensure that local decisions are in line with the overall architecture and platform strategy.
• Provide the Tech Manager and PM with early insights regarding technical risks and potential solutions.
• Spearhead the adoption of AI within the squad by utilizing AI-assisted engineering methods and empowering the team.
• Enhance service observability and monitoring, ensuring that logs, metrics, traces, and alerts are actionable.
• Facilitate technical discussions, oversee implementations, and elevate engineering standards.
• Review pull requests with a focus on assessing risk, quality, and maintainability.
• Identify technical deficiencies and spearhead improvement strategies through mentoring, collaborative work, and continuous learning initiatives.
• Lead postmortem analyses and formulate preventive action plans.
• Connect technical requirements with Product, Infrastructure, SRE, Data, and Architecture teams.
• Align risks, technical priorities, and team growth with the Tech Manager and PM.
• Engage in discussions regarding decisions that affect the entire system with the Architecture team.
• Ensure consistency in standards, integration, and reuse in collaboration with other Tech Leads.
• Participate in ceremonies, assist in decision-making, and mediate conflicts.
• Minimize deployment incidents, rework, rollbacks, and issues with escaped bugs.
• Enhance technical health, observability, adherence to platform standards, and productivity through AI integration.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in Software Architecture, including backend, frontend, or data software development.
• Expertise in Java 17+ with the Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring Data, Spring Batch).
• Familiarity with microservices architecture and REST APIs.
• Understanding of GenAI applied to products.
• Proficient in using Git.
• Knowledge of relational databases such as SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MySQL.
• Familiarity with non-relational databases like MongoDB.
• Strong background in Agile methodologies and technical refinement practices.
• Experience with cloud architecture, preferably AWS, including queueing and storage solutions.
• Proficient in Docker and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with JUnit and Mockito.
• Experience with Jenkins and CI/CD pipelines.
• Proficient in using monitoring tools like Grafana, Kibana, and Datadog.
• Regular use of AI assistants, skills, and agents for coding, testing, and documentation tasks.
• Capability to spread AI practices throughout the team.
• Ability to make informed decisions amidst uncertainty, articulate trade-offs, and take accountability for the results of technical decisions.
• Experience with Clean Architecture is an advantage.
• Familiarity with Domain-Driven Design and creating reusable components is a plus.
• Advanced proficiency in English is a plus.
