Lead Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Define the technical vision for the product squad.

• Take ownership of architectural choices and manage technical risks.

• Serve as the engineering representative on the Architecture Review Board.

• Promote the use of AI coding tools throughout the entire software development lifecycle.

• Produce production-quality full-stack code utilizing Node.js or Python backends, event-driven AWS architecture, and React.

• Guide and nurture engineers in both AI and full-stack areas.

• Collaborate with platform teams and contribute to reusable design patterns.

• Ensure that delivered software is compliant by design, auditable, and appropriate for FCA-regulated financial services.

• Influence product, platform, engineering practices, and technical direction as a senior technical leader.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience, including significant time spent building and managing AI systems in production environments.

• Proven technical leadership experience in setting strategic direction, making architectural choices, mentoring engineers, and shaping team practices.

• Strong practical skills in AI/LLM, encompassing prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), model evaluation, and agent frameworks.

• Extensive expertise in TypeScript and Node.js.

• Solid background in React development.

• Experience with Python is a plus.

• Familiarity with cloud-native development on AWS, including serverless architectures, event-driven systems, and Lambda functions.

• A keen interest in AI advancements and a discerning approach to evaluating technologies.
