This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado, +1 more state.
• Lead the Energy sector at Spotfire, taking charge of product strategy and the roadmap for tools and workflows tailored for oil & gas and energy clients.
• Perform customer research throughout the oil & gas value chain to identify needs, challenges, and opportunities that Spotfire can address.
• Foster relationships with key customers and validate product direction through ongoing collaboration and iterative discovery processes.
• Document and distribute clear, actionable insights and notes from customer interviews for the broader team.
• Represent the interests of energy customers throughout the product development lifecycle and across various product initiatives.
• Own and refine the vision and roadmap for the Energy vertical, ensuring alignment with the company's objectives.
• Prioritize features and initiatives based on customer value, business impact, and technical feasibility.
• Coordinate with engineering, marketing, customer success, sales, and field engineering teams to unify product strategy.
• Work alongside engineering, design, and marketing teams to launch energy-specific end-to-end workflows into the market.
• Define product requirements and user stories while managing the Energy vertical backlog.
• Facilitate field enablement through demonstrations, use-case-specific resources, and customer-facing presentations.
• Represent the Energy vertical during cross-functional planning and roadmap review meetings.
• Provide regular and clear updates on project status.
• Steer features from development to general availability and ensure adoption.
• Proven experience in product management related to analytics, data science, or engineering software.
• Preferably, familiarity with the oil & gas/energy industry across multiple segments of the value chain.
• Working knowledge of oil & gas analytical workflows, including decline curve analysis, reserves/production forecasting, or production surveillance/optimization.
• Comfortable engaging directly with technical, domain-expert customers and transforming workflows into product requirements.
• Demonstrated success in delivering features from inception to completion, including customer discovery, requirements definition, engineering collaboration, and field enablement.
• Ability to work independently within a distributed, cross-functional organization.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with, or a willingness to quickly learn, Spotfire.
• Comfortable with data/analytics concepts such as statistical modeling and forecasting.
• Knowledge of industry-specific data sources like LAS, Petrel, OpenWorks, Aries, or similar.
• Nice to have: experience collaborating with external software vendors/platforms for joint integrations.
