Lead Product Designer, NYC Hybrid

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Take the lead in designing solutions for the platform's most intricate, cross-functional challenges, guiding the process from discovery and research all the way to delivery and iteration.

• Transform ambiguous challenges and emerging business areas into a definitive product vision, collaborating closely with product, client success, and sales teams.

• Create data-intensive workflows that empower underwriters to locate pertinent information and make informed decisions confidently.

• Define the integration of AI within the product, focusing on conveying confidence, highlighting sources, and ensuring underwriters maintain control.

• Develop scalable frameworks for new business lines without disrupting the overall user experience.

• Leverage AI and rapid prototyping tools to transition from concepts to validated solutions.

• Elevate design standards through critique, mentorship, and adherence to shared guidelines.

• Collaborate with the existing Lead Designer, product managers, and engineering teams.

• Directly report to the Head of Product.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 7 years of experience in designing digital products for B2B, data-intensive, or productivity-focused companies.

• Proven experience in a fast-growing startup environment with a strong sense of ownership.

• Background in designing AI-enabled tools.

• Experience in enhancing an existing platform to generalize and expand user experiences to accommodate new and evolving workflows.

• A robust portfolio that demonstrates the ability to simplify complex ideas, design intuitive UIs, and implement clear interaction patterns.

• Proficiency in systems thinking, with experience in shaping and contributing to design systems.

• Strong visual design abilities and meticulous attention to detail, especially in information hierarchy, interaction design, and layout.

• Exceptional communication and collaboration skills; proactive, responsive, and enthusiastic about receiving feedback.

• Inquisitive and adaptable; capable of addressing ambiguous challenges and developing skills.

• Familiarity with MUI (Material UI) or similar design systems is an advantage.

• Experience in InsurTech, FinTech, or other highly regulated industries is a plus.

• A technical background or a keen interest in understanding product development is beneficial.
