Lead Product Designer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Lead the design efforts for the platform’s most intricate and cross-functional challenges, guiding projects from discovery and research to delivery and iteration.

• Transform vague problems and emerging business areas into a clear product vision.

• Collaborate with product management, client success, and sales teams to align user requirements with business objectives.

• Create data-rich workflows that empower underwriters to efficiently locate relevant information and make informed decisions.

• Define the integration of AI within the product, ensuring clarity in communication, source attribution, and user control for underwriters.

• Develop scalable design patterns to facilitate expansion into new business lines.

• Leverage AI and rapid prototyping tools to transition from concepts to validated designs.

• Enhance design quality through constructive critique, mentorship, and adherence to shared standards.

• Work in tandem with the current Lead Designer, product managers, and engineering teams.

• Report directly to the Head of Product.

⛳️ Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in designing digital products for B2B, data-intensive, or productivity-focused companies.

• Proven track record of working in a fast-paced, ownership-driven startup environment.

• Experience in designing tools driven by AI technologies.

• Background in enhancing an existing platform to generalize and scale user experiences for new and evolving workflows.

• Strong portfolio demonstrating an ability to simplify complex challenges, create thoughtful user interfaces, and implement clear interaction patterns.

• Systems thinking aptitude and experience in shaping and contributing to design systems.

• Excellent visual design skills and meticulous attention to detail, especially regarding information hierarchy, interactions, and layouts.

• Outstanding communication and collaboration abilities.

• Curiosity and adaptability in a dynamic environment.

• Experience with MUI (Material UI) or comparable design systems.

• Familiarity with InsurTech, FinTech, or other highly regulated sectors.

• Technical knowledge or interest in the construction of products.
