This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Oversee the design process for various Acorns Early and Early Invest projects, from initial problem identification to high-fidelity design and final handoff.
• Collaborate with product and engineering leaders to define project scope, prioritize tasks, and make necessary trade-offs.
• Convert business objectives and customer insights into product ideas and experience strategies.
• Craft user experiences for both parents and children, ensuring clarity and trust are prioritized.
• Rapidly prototype and test concepts prior to committing engineering resources.
• Mentor and provide constructive feedback to fellow designers on the Family team.
• Present design work and the underlying rationale to senior stakeholders, fostering alignment across various teams.
• Contribute to the development of the Acorns design system.
• Assist engineering teams throughout the build process and quality assurance.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in product design.
• A portfolio showcasing shipped consumer mobile projects.
• Demonstrated ability to lead projects from inception to completion.
• Capability to set design direction and achieve consensus among product, engineering, and leadership teams.
• Strong strategic thinking and conceptual skills.
• Exceptional interaction design and visual craftsmanship.
• Quick adaptability to existing projects and making informed decisions with limited context.
• Experience in mentoring other designers through feedback and critiques.
• Confident communication and storytelling skills with senior stakeholders.
• Proficiency in Figma and contemporary prototyping tools.
• Experience in fintech, investing, or family-oriented products is advantageous.
• A strong desire to create transformative products.
• Remarkable drive and attention to detail in project delivery.
