Lead Product Designer – Builder

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Spearhead the design strategy and execution for Builder pod experiences from the initial discovery phase to final delivery.

• Convert customer requirements, business objectives, product strategy, and technical limitations into a clear design direction for creator workflows.

• Collaborate with product and engineering leaders to establish product vision, prioritize opportunities, and ensure alignment among teams to achieve high-quality results.

• Design and enhance intricate editing experiences, covering canvases, controls, templates, responsive behaviors, previews, publishing states, and AI-supporting workflows.

• Shape leadership decisions by leveraging customer empathy, data analysis, product insight, storytelling, and a strong design rationale.

• Facilitate design quality assessments and establish benchmarks for usability, accessibility, interaction quality, visual consistency, and alignment with design systems.

• Elevate the quality of various teams through mentoring designers, enhancing critique processes, reinforcing shared patterns, and simplifying the adoption of standards.

• Guide complex discovery and design initiatives amid uncertainty by integrating inputs, framing decisions, and guiding teams effectively.

• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Data, Customer Success, and other cross-functional teams to achieve outstanding customer outcomes.

⛳️ Requirements

• 7+ years of relevant experience in product design.

• 2+ years in a leadership, mentorship, or design direction role.

• Experience in creator tools, WYSIWYG editors, drag-and-drop editors, no-code builders, SaaS, B2B, and product environments focused on workflows.

• An outstanding portfolio that showcases systematic thinking, customer empathy, exceptional craft, measurable product impact, and leadership beyond individual contributions.

• Proven experience leading product design in areas such as research, information architecture, interaction design, visual design, prototyping, content strategy, and usability testing.

• Excellent visual and interaction design skills, including hierarchy, layout, typography, grids, spacing, motion, usability, accessibility, and product quality.

• Experience in designing visual creation workflows like drag-and-drop editing, page or email composition, responsive layout controls, asset management, templates, previews, publishing flows, or versioning.

• Familiarity with designing AI-driven or intelligent interfaces, including AI-assisted creation, recommendations, automation, or guided editing workflows.

• Required experience utilizing AI-powered tools for exploration, prototyping, critique, synthesis, or workflow enhancement.

• Deep understanding of design systems, accessibility standards, reusable patterns, and scalable product experience decisions.

• Experience in influencing design direction for high-impact product areas, systems, platforms, or pillars.

• Strong leadership skills in cross-functional settings.

• Excellent communication and facilitation abilities.
