Lead Product Designer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the product design for App 2.0 from initial concept to implementation, encompassing information architecture, user flows, wireframes, prototypes, interaction design, and high-fidelity UI.

• Convert product functionalities, customer needs, and business objectives into seamless experiences that enhance user engagement and adoption.

• Create responsive experiences optimized for both desktop and mobile platforms.

• Develop and refine the App 2.0 design system, which includes components, patterns, tokens, behaviors, documentation, and governance.

• Collaborate with Engineering to ensure design intentions are accurately translated into implementation, minimizing UX drift, unnecessary custom components, and design debt.

• Implement WCAG 2.2 AA standards throughout product and design-system initiatives.

• Work alongside Engineering and compliance teams to resolve accessibility issues.

• Contribute to defining BrightPlan’s AI-first design approach.

• Create AI-enabled design agents, skills, instructions, and workflows.

• Formulate a perspective on the impact of AI on product experiences and AI-first financial wellness solutions.

• Leverage customer feedback, product analytics, experiments, A/B testing, usability insights, and UX methodologies to validate design directions and assess impact.

• Interact directly with customers, the Customer Advisory Board, and stakeholders to grasp their needs, showcase concepts or prototypes, and confirm design choices.

• Assist with the design requirements of App 1.0 during the transition to App 2.0.

• Allocate approximately 80% of your time to design and creation and 20% to design leadership, process enhancement, and cross-functional collaboration.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive product design experience with a portfolio showcasing successful work on intricate digital products.

• Proven experience in leading end-to-end product design for significant features, experiences, or new products from initial concept to implementation.

• Experience in establishing, managing, or significantly advancing a design system utilized in a component-based development setting.

• Strong skills in interaction design, visual design, information architecture, and prototyping.

• Proficient in Figma or similar modern design tools.

• Familiarity with WCAG 2.2 AA standards and experience integrating accessibility principles into the design process.

• Experience in utilizing AI within product design and a keen interest in exploring AI-driven workflows.

• Strong systems thinking capabilities.

• Ability to harmonize individual feature requirements with consistency across the overall product experience.

• Excellent collaboration skills with Product Management and Engineering teams.

• Ability to articulate design rationale, navigate implementation compromises, and drive decisions towards execution.

• Comfortable working autonomously in a small, agile organization.

• Evidence-based design approach with a willingness to test assumptions, measure outcomes, and iterate.

• Candidates must reside and work in the United States.
