This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +13 more states.
• Assist in leading the design and execution of pricing strategies that align with profitability and growth objectives.
• Supervise rate assessments and the development of pricing models across various states and segments.
• Collaborate with Product, Underwriting, Reserving, and Claims teams on pricing decisions and initiatives for new products.
• Execute rate filing strategies, including the preparation of actuarial support and responses to regulatory inquiries.
• Track loss ratios, retention rates, and conversion metrics to assess pricing effectiveness and suggest modifications.
• Ensure adherence to actuarial standards and regulatory obligations across different jurisdictions.
• Create predictive models to enhance product segmentation and pricing strategies.
• A Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, economics, finance, or a related discipline is required.
• ACAS designation is preferred; progress toward obtaining actuarial credentials is advantageous.
• A Master’s degree in a quantitative field is beneficial.
• A minimum of 5 years of pricing experience in Property and Casualty insurance, particularly in personal or non-standard auto.
• Knowledge of commercial lines is an added advantage.
• A thorough understanding of actuarial pricing techniques, loss cost modeling, and competitive analysis is essential.
• Proficiency in Excel, SQL, R, Python, or actuarial software such as Emblem or Radar is required.
• Experience in supporting rate filings and engaging with regulatory bodies is necessary.
• Strong strategic thinking, business acumen, and communication skills are essential.
• Familiarity with the Florida and Texas markets is a significant advantage.
