Lead PMO Planner

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Develop, maintain, and ensure integrated plans across intricate programmes.

• Assist complex programmes and portfolios in overseeing plans and schedules at various levels.

• Gather, analyze, and critically assess schedules to provide a comprehensive overview for both internal and external stakeholders.

• Ensure the quality of schedules and uphold portfolio- and programme-level schedules to accurately reflect delivery progress.

• Mentor colleagues in best practices for planning and scheduling.

• Deliver planning and scheduling insights for reporting at the executive level.

• Evaluate progress against schedules and identify delivery risks, dependencies, and milestones.

• Identify, document, and monitor dependencies, milestones, critical paths, resource limitations, and risk impacts.

• Lead planning workshops with senior internal and external stakeholders.

• Enhance PMO maturity and facilitate continuous improvement through standardized planning and scheduling frameworks.

• Report to the Head of the Portfolio Office as part of a team of Lead Planners.


⛳️ Requirements

• Security Clearance must be established and remain valid throughout the entire duration of the position.

• Expert-level experience in planning and scheduling within complex delivery environments.

• Proficient in MS Project at an expert level.

• Experience managing intricate schedules for projects exceeding £5m and cross-functional dependencies.

• Exceptional stakeholder management abilities.

• Proven experience in defining best practices for planning and scheduling.

• Understanding of planning maturity, governance, and schedule quality standards.

• Familiarity with critical path analysis, dependency mapping, and milestone management.

• Capability to coach or assist colleagues in applying consistent planning methodologies.

• Experience within a portfolio, programme, or enterprise PMO environment.

• Willingness to travel on an ad hoc basis.
