Lead Network Engineer – 5G Core

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Execute the installation and deployment of 5G network equipment, including core servers, CU/DU hardware, network switches, routers, firewalls, synchronization equipment, GNSS GPS antennas, structured cabling, and related interconnections.

• Document the necessary system integration specifics, network interfaces, and existing architecture, with a focus on the Private 5G core and its incorporation into the wider environment.

• Integrate wireless, fiber, and supporting network elements into the existing Army network in a secure and seamless manner.

• Assist in planning, architecture development, installation, configuration, operations and maintenance, documentation, and engineering tasks related to network services.

• Work collaboratively with Design, Implementation, and Cybersecurity teams to ensure secure and aligned integration.

• Aid in equipment staging, rack and stack processes, power verification, cable management, hardware replacement, software loading, and field troubleshooting.

• Support test procedures and system validation activities under the guidance of engineering personnel.

• Contribute to the Army TEN-M program as part of General Dynamics IT.

⛳️ Requirements

• BS/BA Degree; additional relevant experience may be accepted in place of a degree.

• Over 15 years of network engineering experience, particularly with a focus on 5G CORE technologies and related responsibilities as outlined above.

• More than 5 years of experience in a technical leadership role.

• Current Secret Clearance is required.

• Must already hold Secret clearance.

• Ability to obtain Secret clearance is necessary.

• US Citizenship is required.

• Candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius of a major airport.

• Travel of 25% to 50% is expected.

• Proficiency in 5G Core Network Architecture, 5G Wireless Networks, Network Development, and Network Management is essential.
