Lead Network Automation Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Design and execute enterprise-level Network-as-Code, Infrastructure-as-Code, and GitOps solutions utilizing Terraform, Ansible, Python, and Git.

• Develop, enhance, and sustain CI/CD pipelines for network infrastructure, incorporating automated testing, dry-run validation, approval gates, and security/compliance checks.

• Architect, deploy, and manage Kubernetes networking frameworks employing Project Calico, OVN, VXLAN overlays, network policies, container networking, and physical underlay integration.

• Spearhead the design, modernization, and evaluation of enterprise network architectures encompassing BGP, OSPF, data center networking, multi-site routing, and high availability.

• Act as a Tier-4 escalation engineer for intricate network incidents, addressing overlay/underlay failures, asymmetric routing, microbursts, path selection challenges, and performance bottlenecks.

• Lead root cause analysis efforts and promote long-term remediation and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Implement Security-as-Code by automating the validation and enforcement of ACLs, firewall policies, security groups, and configuration standards.

• Collaborate with engineering, platform, and infrastructure teams on global client initiatives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of experience in Network Automation, Infrastructure-as-Code, or Platform Engineering.

• Proficient hands-on experience with Palo Alto firewalls.

• Proficient hands-on experience with F5 or similar load balancers.

• Familiarity with MPLS, OSPF, and BGP routing protocols.

• Experience with Cisco Nexus 9k/7k/5k/2k switching systems.

• Working knowledge of Cisco IOS, with a preference for Nexus OS.

• Strong practical experience with Terraform, Ansible, and Python.

• Experience with Netmiko, Nornir, and NAPALM.

• Extensive knowledge of BGP, OSPF, data center networking, and overlay/underlay architectures.

• Experience in designing and managing Kubernetes networking, including Project Calico, OVN, VXLAN, and Kubernetes CNI.

• Hands-on experience with GitOps and CI tools such as GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, and Jenkins.

• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving abilities in production enterprise settings.

• Preferred experience with telecommunications technologies, including SIP, RTP, SBC, SIP trunking, and VoIP architectures.

• Knowledge of Linux networking, network namespaces, virtual interfaces, eBPF, and iptables.

• Experience with Telemetry-as-Code, network observability, automated validation frameworks, and proactive monitoring.

• Familiarity with cloud networking, infrastructure modernization, or large-scale network transformation.
