This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.
• Design and enhance automated testing frameworks across various products and engineering teams.
• Develop and sustain automated API, integration, contract, end-to-end, regression, and relevant UI tests.
• Create reusable test frameworks, fixtures, synthetic data, mocks, and environmental strategies.
• Implement automated testing for distributed services and integrations within AWS environments.
• Plan and carry out load, stress, spike, soak, scalability, degradation, and recovery tests.
• Convert performance and capacity scenarios into repeatable automated suites featuring measurable pass/fail criteria.
• Simulate realistic workloads, concurrency levels, traffic patterns, data volumes, and dependency behaviors.
• Incorporate automated suites into CI/CD pipelines and set up quality and release checkpoints.
• Establish automated release checks linked to quality, latency, reliability, and performance standards.
• Detect, isolate, diagnose, and resolve flaky tests.
• Enhance test observability and failure reporting mechanisms.
• Develop and manage test data and test environment strategies.
• Troubleshoot failures across APIs, services, databases, infrastructure, and external integrations.
• Collaborate with Performance & Reliability Engineering to verify scalability assumptions and readiness for production.
• Work alongside Security Engineering on permissions, isolation, negative-path, and abuse-related testing scenarios.
• Monitor testing trends and minimize escaped defects, flaky tests, manual release efforts, and regression risks.
• Mentor engineers on testability, automation, quality ownership, and defect prevention.
• Significant experience as an SDET, Software Engineer in Test, Test Automation Engineer, Quality Engineer, or similar engineering-focused testing role.
• Proficient in software development and test automation techniques.
• Experience in testing APIs, distributed services, integrations, and cloud-based applications.
• Practical experience within AWS environments.
• Extensive experience in building automated API and integration test frameworks.
• Hands-on experience in performance and scalability testing with tools like k6, Gatling, Locust, JMeter, or similar.
• Experience in designing realistic performance workloads rather than merely executing predefined load tests.
• Familiarity with load, stress, spike, soak, and scalability testing methodologies.
• Strong experience in integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
• Proven track record in establishing automated quality gates and release criteria.
• Experience with contract testing and testing across service boundaries.
• Strong understanding of test data management, synthetic data, fixtures, mocks, and environment reliability.
• Proficient in using logs, metrics, traces, and other observability tools to troubleshoot test and system failures.
• Strong debugging capabilities across applications, APIs, infrastructure, databases, and integrations.
• Experience in identifying and mitigating flaky or unreliable automated tests.
• Ability to influence engineering teams and advocate for shared ownership of quality without creating a centralized testing bottleneck.
