Lead .Net Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ukraine.

📋 Description

• Oversee the transition of the legacy ColdFusion e-commerce platform to a modern Angular storefront supported by a .NET 8+ backend.

• Lead the migration from on-premises infrastructure to Azure, which includes defining target architecture, establishing landing zones, implementing IaC, CI/CD, and developing a cutover strategy.

• Analyze production performance and reliability issues utilizing telemetry, and manage prioritized fixes until resolution.

• Conceptualize and implement the new Order Management System along with subsequent projects for onboarding franchise and corporate stores.

• Develop production code in critical areas such as authentication, checkout processes, and the core of the OMS.

• Facilitate spikes and eliminate obstacles for the team.

• Direct the client’s ColdFusion engineers and synchronize technical direction across the company.

• Establish and uphold engineering standards regarding branching, code reviews, testing procedures, observability, and security/PCI-DSS compliance.

• Manage technical risks and sequencing involving live production maintenance, migration processes, and the delivery of the new OMS.

• Conduct technical discovery and refinement sessions in collaboration with the client.

• Present architectural choices and trade-offs to both engineering and business stakeholders.

• Employ AI coding agents to prototype ideas, validate integration methods, and enhance team delivery speed.

• Mentor .NET and Angular engineers while advancing AI-augmented development methodologies.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience leading or possessing strong Senior-level capabilities in .NET full-stack development (.NET 8+, C#) and Angular (current LTS versions).

• Previous involvement in leading a similar legacy-to-modern platform migration or cloud re-platforming project, ideally transitioning from a legacy CMS/monolith stack.

• Hands-on experience with e-commerce or CMS platforms, including expertise in SEO and Google-related integrations, as well as Angular SSR/prerendering and maintaining SEO during SPA migrations.

• Practical experience in Agentic / AI-augmented engineering utilizing tools like Claude Code, ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, or similar for tasks such as code generation, refactoring, review, and rapid prototyping.

• Knowledge of specification-driven or PRD-driven AI workflows, such as BMAD-METHOD or Spec-Kit.

• Proven architectural ownership experience, including evolving system architecture and making informed decisions on build-vs-remove-legacy, while justifying trade-offs.

• Experience in architecting background/asynchronous job processing using Hangfire or similar solutions across various deployment environments.

• Strong skills in code review and mentoring, with a history of elevating engineering standards within a team.

• Experience in diagnosing and resolving production performance challenges using APM/telemetry tools, such as Application Insights or equivalent.

• Familiarity with third-party integration architecture, covering payment gateways, tax services, and fraud/marketing platforms.

• Ability to independently gather and clarify client requirements while articulating technical solutions to both engineering and business stakeholders.

• Demonstrated ownership and proactive approach.

• Proficient in English for direct daily communication with US stakeholders.

• At least 4 hours of daily overlap with New York time.
