Lead Mechanical Engineer – Nuclear

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Engage in the design of systems for nuclear power plants.

• Create or assess modification packages for operational nuclear power facilities.

• Develop or evaluate functional mechanical drawings and diagrams related to nuclear power plant systems.

• Formulate or review engineering analyses and assessments that support modifications and the operation of plant systems.

• Prepare or examine technical specifications and procurement documents for equipment used in the plant.

• Conduct evaluations of vendor bids for plant equipment.

• Carry out studies and evaluations of options for modifications to existing nuclear power plants.

• Generate engineering cost estimates for small to medium-sized tasks requested by clients.

• Visit client offices and/or plant locations to engage with clients and present the status of engineering tasks.

• Lead teams on engineering projects.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering from an ABET accredited institution.

• Academic background in thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer.

• At least 12 years of experience within the nuclear power sector.

• Familiarity with the codes, standards, and regulations relevant to the mechanical engineering design of nuclear power plants.

• Professional Engineer (PE) license is advantageous, though not mandatory.
