Lead Mechanical Engineer – Nuclear

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Engage in the design of systems for nuclear power plants.

• Create or assess modification packages for operational nuclear power facilities.

• Develop or evaluate functional mechanical drawings and schematics for nuclear power plant systems.

• Generate or scrutinize engineering analyses and assessments that support modifications and the operation of plant systems.

• Prepare or review technical specifications and procurement documents for equipment related to the plant.

• Conduct evaluations of vendor bids for plant equipment.

• Execute studies and assessments for modifications to existing nuclear power plants.

• Formulate engineering cost estimates for small to mid-sized client-requested work scopes.

• Visit client locations and/or plant sites to collaborate with clients and present updates on engineering tasks.

• Lead teams on engineering projects.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.

• Academic background in thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer.

• At least 10 years of experience in the power sector.

• Proficient understanding of codes, standards, and regulations pertinent to mechanical engineering design in nuclear power plants.

• Professional Engineer (PE) license is advantageous, though not mandatory.

• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.; the employer does not provide work authorization sponsorship for this role.
