This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Deliver technical expertise and oversee intricate electro-mechanical testing, robotic-assisted evaluations, generator diagnostics, and specialized generator monitoring services.
• Perform or manage generator testing, which includes SLMS commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting tasks.
• Carry out RVM torsional vibration measurements, covering probe installation, data collection, and diagnostic analysis.
• Implement and manage robotic inspection systems for internal assessments of generators.
• Merge robotic data outputs with conventional EMT data to create comprehensive diagnostic reports.
• Collaborate with Regional Commercial Managers, Service Managers, and Sales Managers to analyze work scopes and technical specifications, ensuring that customer and contract requirements are satisfied.
• Investigate inspection reports and historical data, and interpret technical drawings to accurately define inspection requirements.
• Furnish engineering support teams with technical data and insights regarding I&LES service offerings.
• Partner with Product Services to enhance developments, assess robotic technologies, and optimize commercial processes.
• Oversee proposal creation to align with customer-specified timelines and produce high-quality proposals.
• Manage cost estimation and proposal development utilizing Workflows, Excel, Access, and Salesforce.
• Preserve field data, robotic diagnostic records, and project documentation.
• Provide onsite leadership, guidance, and training to less experienced staff members.
• Develop technical work instructions and procedures for both traditional EMT and robotic-assisted testing methodologies.
• Conduct quality reviews across various inspection technologies.
• Liaise with internal engineering teams, site representatives, and external customers throughout planning, execution, and post-job discussions.
• Install, calibrate, and maintain advanced instrumentation, interpreting data to evaluate turbine-generator operational health.
• Ensure that field operations adhere to safety, quality, and scheduling commitments.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution; OR an associate's degree in Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical, or Non-Destructive Technology (or equivalent) with a minimum of 5 years of relevant field experience.
• Proficiency in generator design principles, generator operation, and electro-mechanical testing methodologies.
• Advanced knowledge in the installation and upkeep of generator monitoring systems, such as SLMS, partial discharge, shorted turn, vibration sensors, accelerometers, proximity probes, and flow sensors.
• Expertise in torsional vibration measurement techniques, including rotary encoders, magnetic pickups, and optical sensors.
• Experience with deploying remote inspection tools, automated crawlers, or robotic diagnostic systems.
• Strong analytical capabilities concerning rotational velocity and sensor-derived data.
• Capacity to thrive in fast-paced and high-pressure situations.
• Ability to work autonomously with minimal oversight.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Capability to organize and mentor team members effectively.
• Willingness to travel internationally on short notice and for extended durations; approximately 70% travel during outage seasons.
• Flexibility to work varied hours as dictated by project schedules.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, Modal Analysis Software, and relevant data acquisition or robotic interface systems.
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects while being results-oriented.
