Lead FullStack Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Lead the design of backend architecture and APIs utilizing Python and Flask.

• Take ownership of service-layer architecture, code reviews, and provide backend pattern guidance for full-stack projects.

• Create and implement scalable REST and asynchronous APIs.

• Engage in hands-on frontend development using React and TypeScript.

• Work collaboratively with UI teams to deliver comprehensive features and ensure seamless frontend-backend integration.

• Architect and oversee cloud infrastructure on GCP, employing Cloud Run, Cloud Storage, Secret Manager, IAM, along with logging and monitoring solutions.

• Design and enhance database solutions utilizing Google Spanner and SQL.

• Utilize BigQuery for various analytics and reporting applications.

• Establish testing strategies across the technology stack, incorporating pytest, Jest, React Testing Library, and Playwright.

• Develop CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and Docker.

• Advocate for security best practices, including dependency management, secrets/configuration handling, and secure development workflows.

• Utilize AI-powered development tools for code exploration, test generation, debugging, and enhancing productivity.

• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers.

• Oversee technical delivery across feature teams, ensuring alignment on architecture, testing standards, and deployment readiness.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive expertise in Python with strong skills in Flask or comparable web frameworks for backend API development.

• Significant hands-on experience with React and TypeScript, capable of building production-quality frontend features and collaborating on UI/UX delivery.

• Demonstrated experience in designing and constructing REST APIs and service-oriented architectures with an emphasis on scalability and maintainability.

• Strong foundation in SQL, database design, and data modeling best practices.

• Practical experience with GCP, including Cloud Run, Cloud Storage, and essential IAM and monitoring practices.

• Familiarity with comprehensive testing strategies, including pytest, Jest, React Testing Library, and end-to-end testing frameworks such as Playwright.

• Knowledge of CI/CD methodologies, GitHub Actions, and Docker containerization.

• Understanding of security best practices, including dependency management, configuration/secrets handling, and secure development workflows.

• Capacity to function as a technical lead, mentoring peers and making architectural decisions across full-stack disciplines.

• Experience or strong aptitude for AI-assisted development tools and workflows aimed at enhancing code quality and developer productivity.

• Proficiency in English: Advanced (essential for efficient communication with global teams).

• Experience with Google Spanner or cloud-native databases is advantageous.

• Familiarity with BigQuery or data warehouse solutions for analytics purposes is a plus.

• Experience with agent-based or MCP tool integration is beneficial.

• Familiarity with async/event-driven architectures is advantageous.

• Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code or Terraform is a plus.
