Lead Full-Stack Ruby Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Develop and sustain software solutions for an advanced clinical-trial data management and quality platform.

• Create and manage microservice-based architectures utilizing Ruby on Rails and React.

• Analyze data flows across services, message queues, event streams, third-party integrations, and data warehouses.

• Actively participate in architectural, engineering, and product decision-making processes.

• Collaborate closely with embedded, forward-deployed client teams.

• Navigate multiple tickets and maintain progress even when faced with obstacles.

• Proactively identify risks and gaps in projects.

⛳️ Requirements

• Senior-level position requiring 8+ years of relevant experience.

• Significant commercial expertise in Ruby (Rails) and React.

• Practical experience in building and maintaining microservice-based systems.

• Capability to track data flows between services, including message queues, event streams, third-party integrations, and data warehouses.

• Proactive ownership and a comprehensive understanding of the project as a cohesive system.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tickets simultaneously.

• Skill in asking pertinent questions and identifying risks or gaps at an early stage.

• Upper-intermediate or higher proficiency in English.

• Experience with Kafka or a similar event-streaming platform is a plus.

• Familiarity with Snowflake or a comparable analytical data warehouse is advantageous.

• Experience in integrating and troubleshooting external or third-party APIs at scale is beneficial.

• Knowledge of observability tools, distributed tracing, and centralized logging is a plus.

• Experience with service decomposition or transitioning from a monolithic architecture to microservices is a plus.

• Availability to work Brazilian hours, from 9 AM to 5 PM BRT.
