Lead Full Stack Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Lead the design and implementation of secure, resilient, and production-quality applications.

• Stay actively engaged with frontend, backend, APIs, data, integration, cloud, and deployment.

• Develop AI-driven applications and agentic workflows that integrate models, tools, data, and enterprise systems.

• Design agent orchestration, retrieval, context, state, memory, permissions, and human oversight.

• Create strong methodologies for AI evaluation, security, reliability, observability, and cost management.

• Address complex challenges related to architecture, performance, scalability, and production operations.

• Make informed technical decisions based on evidence and clarify trade-offs.

• Guide teams through uncertainty and intricate delivery processes.

• Enhance engineering standards through leadership, mentorship, and constructive feedback.

• Collaborate closely with clients, architects, product teams, and delivery leaders.

• Shape programs from initial discovery to full production.

• Influence engineering standards, reusable patterns, and technical strategies.

• Serve as a trusted technical advisor to senior client stakeholders.

⛳️ Requirements

• Outstanding and recent hands-on software engineering experience.

• Proven track record of delivering complex, production-grade systems personally.

• In-depth knowledge of modern systems operating comprehensively.

• Strong system design and architecture skills with the ability to implement and validate decisions.

• Extensive experience in frontend, backend, APIs, databases, automated testing, CI/CD, containers, and cloud platforms.

• Proficient in diagnosing issues across application, infrastructure, and runtime boundaries.

• Quick adaptability to unfamiliar tools and platforms.

• Sound judgment regarding security, performance, reliability, maintainability, observability, and cost.

• Experience in leading and mentoring engineers while maintaining technical credibility.

• Exceptional communication and client-facing abilities.

• Background in government, regulated, or complex enterprise environments.

• Eligibility and willingness to obtain SC clearance.

• Practical experience in building applications utilizing large language models or other modern AI technologies.

• Experience designing agentic workflows that involve tool usage, structured outputs, and integration with external systems.

• Knowledge of retrieval-augmented generation, embeddings, grounding, and context management.

• Familiarity with agent orchestration, state management, memory, permissions, error recovery, and human-in-the-loop controls.

• Experience in evaluating quality, reliability, safety, and measurable business outcomes.

• Understanding of AI security, including prompt injection, data protection, access control, and auditability.

• Background in hosted, private, open-weight, sovereign, or disconnected deployment patterns.

• Expertise in AI-assisted software engineering and thorough validation of generated code and designs.

• Proficiency in technologies such as Go, Java, C#, Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, React, AWS, Azure, Kubernetes, relational databases, event-driven systems, open-weight models, vector search, or agent orchestration frameworks.
