This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.
• Take charge of data products throughout their entire lifecycle, covering ingestion, transformation, semantic modeling, reporting, documentation, and user adoption.
• Design, develop, and implement comprehensive data solutions utilizing Microsoft Fabric and Power BI.
• Convert vague business inquiries into structured data models, semantic layers, dashboards, and thorough documentation.
• Oversee project delivery from the discovery and prototyping phases through to validation and production support.
• Create and sustain ingestion and transformation pipelines leveraging Fabric Data Factory, dataflows Gen2, and copy activities.
• Structure data within Fabric Lakehouse and/or Data Warehouse frameworks using a layered bronze, silver, and gold architecture.
• Set up ETL/ELT standards, optimize performance, design scalable solutions, and implement data quality checks, validation rules, and monitoring processes.
• Construct and manage clean, well-structured, documented datasets along with feature-ready CI/CD for the data platform using GitHub.
• Design dimensional and star schemas that encompass facts, dimensions, slowly changing dimensions (SCDs), and conformed dimensions.
• Develop and maintain Power BI semantic models with DAX measures and calculated columns.
• Create high-performing Power BI reports, dashboards, and applications featuring navigation, drill-through capabilities, parameterized views, and security measures.
• Conduct data analysis to uncover trends, patterns, and opportunities.
• Support predictive and statistical modeling, as well as AI-assisted analytics like Power BI Copilot.
• Ensure adherence to data governance policies, security protocols, and regulatory standards.
• Document data products, detailing their purpose, sources, refresh cadence, ownership, lineage, and limitations.
• Collaborate with stakeholders from commercial, operations, finance, clinical, engineering, architecture, governance, and security domains.
• Engage in peer reviews of SQL, Python, DAX, data models, and report designs.
• Line-manage data engineers, including setting objectives, conducting one-on-ones, performance reviews, and facilitating development.
• Strong expertise in SQL and Python for data transformation, modeling, and performance tuning.
• Practical experience with Microsoft Fabric Data Factory, pipelines, dataflows Gen2, and Lakehouse and/or Data Warehouse.
• Proficient in Power BI, encompassing DAX, semantic modeling, datasets, reports, applications, and performance optimization.
• In-depth understanding of data warehousing and dimensional modeling principles.
• Experience in implementing BI security models, including row-level security.
• Familiarity with Git-based source control and CI/CD methodologies.
• Experience with enterprise source systems such as ERP, CRM, and finance systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent communication skills for conveying technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Exceptional attention to detail, documentation, and data quality.
• Ability to collaborate effectively within a cross-functional environment.
• Comfortable operating in regulated or compliance-focused settings.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• Typically, over 5 years of experience in BI, analytics, or data engineering.
• Proven experience across the entire data stack, from ingestion and modeling to reporting and user adoption.
