Lead Engineer, Cloud Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Chile.

📋 Description

• Design and develop AWS infrastructure and automation solutions.

• Provide mentorship to engineering team members.

• Take ownership of the delivery for significant platform workstreams.

• Drive the team's integration of AI-assisted and agentic engineering practices.

• Create CI/CD pipelines, implement infrastructure as code, and establish self-service automation.

• Collaborate with Cloud Operations, Product Development, QA, Sales, and IT teams.

• Participate in the AWS Managed Services (AMS) Advanced-to-Accelerate migration, manage Amazon EKS upgrades, establish multi-region landing zones, and work with networking and AI services built on Amazon Bedrock.

• Evaluate success through DORA metrics.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 7 years of experience in DevOps, cloud infrastructure, or platform engineering, including at least 2 years in a leadership role overseeing engineers or technical workstreams.

• Extensive hands-on experience with AWS services: IAM, EC2, VPC, Transit Gateway, ALB/NLB, CloudFront, S3, RDS, ECS/Fargate, EKS, Lambda, Step Functions, Systems Manager, and CloudWatch.

• Proficient in infrastructure as code using CloudFormation and/or Terraform.

• Solid experience with Docker and Kubernetes (EKS).

• Strong skills in Python and Bash scripting.

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines as code, with a preference for Jenkins.

• Familiarity with Git, Jira, and Confluence.

• Practical daily experience utilizing AI-assisted engineering tools and a comprehensive understanding of how AI agents can safely automate infrastructure and operations.

• Experience with configuration management tools (Puppet or similar), Linux environments, observability tools (Datadog or similar), and incident response.

• A strong understanding of cloud security practices in regulated environments.

• Proficiency in both English and Spanish.

• A degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience.

• AWS Professional certification (DevOps Engineer or Solutions Architect) is preferred.

• Hands-on experience with Amazon Bedrock, LLM APIs, agent frameworks, RAG, or Model Context Protocol (MCP) is preferred.

• Familiarity with AWS Control Tower, Organizations, IAM Identity Center, or AWS Managed Services (AMS) is preferred.

• Experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, or SQL Server on AWS, especially in financial services or other regulated industries is preferred.
