Cloud Architect – Oracle, Managed IT Services

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Carolina.

📋 Description

• Design, implement, and enhance cloud architectures across AWS, Azure, GCP, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, and/or hybrid settings for various clients.

• Collaborate with client stakeholders and internal service delivery teams to convert business needs into scalable, cost-efficient, and repeatable cloud solutions.

• Act as a subject matter expert on Oracle IaaS/PaaS services, infrastructure automation, and cloud-native application design.

• Lead client onboarding and cloud migration initiatives while ensuring minimal disruption and adherence to security requirements.

• Monitor and proactively manage cloud environments, identifying and addressing issues within contractual SLAs.

• Partner with the NOC and Service Desk to respond to incidents, troubleshoot cloud-related challenges, and handle escalations.

• Develop and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code templates, deployment pipelines, and automation scripts.

• Provide guidance to clients on cloud offerings, cost-saving strategies, security best practices, strategic enhancements, and modernization efforts.

• Maintain documentation for client environments, architecture diagrams, and standard operating procedures.

• Support pre-sales activities, including technical scoping, effort estimation, and proposal creation.

• Implement and oversee multi-tenant cloud environments with secure resource separation, cost monitoring, and compliance.

• Contribute to the ongoing improvement of managed services processes and cloud management frameworks.

• Manage multiple projects and maintenance tasks for various organizations under stringent SLAs.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; or equivalent professional experience.

• Over 5 years of hands-on experience in designing, implementing, and supporting cloud infrastructure within a managed services, MSP, or consulting environment.

• Extensive knowledge of at least one cloud platform (AWS, Azure, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), or GCP); multi-cloud or hybrid experience is highly preferred.

• Proficient in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, ARM, CloudFormation, Oracle Resource Manager, or Ansible.

• Strong understanding of networking, identity and access management, security best practices, and cloud monitoring.

• Experience with automation, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization technologies (Kubernetes, Docker, etc.).

• Proven experience with ITIL, service management frameworks, and MSP-specific tools (ServiceNow, etc.).

• Exceptional interpersonal, client communication, and project management abilities.

• Capable of working effectively in a fast-paced, multi-client, SLA-driven environment.

• Industry certifications are highly desirable, including AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Google Professional Cloud Architect, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Architect Associate or Professional, and CISSP.

• Familiarity with Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA), TIC 3.0, and security controls.

• Exposure to AI/ML tools within AWS, Azure, Oracle Cloud, and/or Google, such as Bedrock, SageMaker, Comprehend, Lex, Azure OpenAI, and Gemini.

• Ability to mentor and support technical teams.

• Candidate must reside within commuting distance of Columbia, SC.
