Lead Engineer, Cloud Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Chile.

📋 Description

• Design and develop AWS infrastructure alongside automation solutions.

• Provide mentorship to engineering team members.

• Take ownership of significant platform workstreams delivery.

• Guide the team's integration of AI-assisted and autonomous engineering practices.

• Create CI/CD pipelines utilizing infrastructure as code and self-service automation.

• Collaborate with Cloud Operations, Product Development, QA, Sales, and IT departments.

• Execute ongoing projects such as AWS Managed Services Advanced-to-Accelerate migration, Amazon EKS upgrades, multi-region landing zones and networking, as well as AI services leveraging Amazon Bedrock.

• Evaluate engineering delivery using DORA metrics.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience in DevOps, cloud infrastructure, or platform engineering, including a minimum of 2 years in leadership roles or managing technical workstreams.

• Extensive hands-on experience with AWS technologies: IAM, EC2, VPC, Transit Gateway, ALB/NLB, CloudFront, S3, RDS, ECS/Fargate, EKS, Lambda, Step Functions, Systems Manager, and CloudWatch.

• Proficient in infrastructure as code using CloudFormation and/or Terraform.

• Strong expertise in Docker and Kubernetes (EKS).

• Solid skills in Python and Bash scripting.

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines as code, preferably with Jenkins, along with Git, Jira, and Confluence.

• Practical experience in utilizing AI-assisted engineering tools and understanding how AI agents can safely streamline infrastructure and operations.

• Familiarity with configuration management tools (such as Puppet or similar), Linux systems, observability tools (like Datadog or similar), and incident response protocols.

• Strong understanding of cloud security practices in regulated environments.

• Proficiency in both English and Spanish.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience.

• Preferred: AWS Professional certification (DevOps Engineer or Solutions Architect).

• Preferred: Practical experience with Amazon Bedrock, LLM APIs, agent frameworks, RAG, or Model Context Protocol (MCP).

• Preferred: Familiarity with AWS Control Tower, Organizations, IAM Identity Center, or AWS Managed Services (AMS).

• Preferred: Experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, or SQL Server on AWS, particularly in financial services or other regulated industries.
