Senior Software Engineer – Azure, .NET, AI-First Development

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, test, and maintain cloud-native applications and RESTful APIs utilizing C#, .NET 8+, ASP.NET Core, and Microsoft Azure.

• Construct and enhance distributed systems, microservices, serverless solutions, and event-driven integrations.

• Facilitate the adoption of OpenSpec and specification-driven development methodologies.

• Develop, configure, and optimize AI coding agents to assist in software development.

• Mentor engineers in the use of AI-assisted development tools throughout the software development lifecycle.

• Evaluate and validate AI-generated code through automated testing, secure coding practices, and thorough code reviews.

• Design and manage enterprise APIs and integrations leveraging Azure API Management.

• Offer technical guidance on MCP servers built on existing REST APIs and assist with implementation as needed.

• Diagnose production issues and enhance observability, performance, and reliability.

• Maintain technical documentation and engage in knowledge-sharing discussions regarding AI development best practices.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure technical decisions align with business objectives and architectural standards.

• Participate in Agile ceremonies, technical discussions, and initiatives focused on continuous improvement.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field is preferred, or equivalent professional experience.

• Over 7 years of professional experience in Software Engineering.

• More than 5 years of hands-on development experience with C# and .NET.

• At least 4 years of experience in developing and supporting applications on Microsoft Azure.

• Extensive experience in building cloud-native applications and RESTful APIs using .NET 8+ and ASP.NET Core.

• Strong comprehension of distributed systems, microservices, and enterprise integrations.

• Practical experience with Azure Functions, App Services, Azure Storage, Service Bus, Azure SQL, Application Insights, Key Vault, and Azure API Management.

• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, OpenSpec, or similar technologies.

• Understanding of specification-driven development and the role of AI coding tools in software engineering processes.

• Experience with Git-based version control, branching strategies, pull requests, automated testing, and DevOps practices.

• Knowledge of authentication, authorization, application security, and secure development methodologies.

• Strong problem-solving abilities and collaboration skills with Product, Business, Architecture, and Engineering teams.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

• Initial engagement for 6 months.

• Preferred experience with OpenSpec, coding agents, MCP, agent orchestration, Azure AI services, AI evaluation/testing/observability/governance, high-volume transactional systems, and distributed teams.
