Lead Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +6 more states.

📋 Description

• Oversee engineering initiatives across ongoing co-development projects.

• Collaborate with production, design, art, QA, and client stakeholders to create exceptional experiences.

• Offer technical guidance, proactively identify risks, and implement practical solutions throughout the development process.

• Convey technical trade-offs to both technical and non-technical audiences effectively.

• Assist in estimation, planning, and execution throughout the project lifecycle.

• Engage in hands-on development as necessary, especially within Unreal Engine.

• Design and assess gameplay systems, tools, integrations, and performance-critical features.

• Lead teams in debugging, profiling, optimization, and resolving technical challenges.

• Support projects that span multiple engines and technologies.

• Uphold standards for code quality, maintainability, scalability, and performance.

• Progress into a leadership role within the department while continuing project involvement.

• Mentor developers and foster strong relationships across various disciplines.

• Design technical solutions for clients and enhance Side's engineering practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience as a Lead Engineer or Technical Director.

• Professional engineering background in gaming or related technology sectors.

• Successfully shipped at least two titles on PC, console, mobile, or VR/AR platforms using Unreal Engine.

• Proficient in gameplay, AI, tools, systems, engine, animation technology, backend services, cloud, or DevOps.

• Skilled in C++, C#, Python, or similar programming languages.

• Extensive hands-on experience with Unreal Engine.

• Strong familiarity with Unity and proprietary engines.

• Knowledgeable in source control practices.

• Acquainted with debugging tools and performance profiling techniques.

• Experienced with agile workflows.

• An English-language resume is required.
