This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +2 more locations.
β’ Assume primary responsibility for engineering as Outro's senior hands-on engineering leader.
β’ Contribute significantly to the development of production software.
β’ Design, develop, and maintain tools for clinicians and products for patients.
β’ Create systems for managing medication, symptoms, and clinical data.
β’ Establish integrations with insurance and healthcare systems.
β’ Develop internal operations and research platforms.
β’ Oversee infrastructure, ensuring reliability, security, privacy, and compliance.
β’ Ensure patient medication and response information is clear, actionable, and secure.
β’ Direct technical vision, architectural decisions, engineering standards, delivery, and compliance.
β’ Influence policies regarding HIPAA, SOC 2, access controls, auditability, and sensitive patient information.
β’ Recruit and mentor future engineering team members.
β’ Implement beneficial processes while minimizing unnecessary bureaucracy.
β’ Collaborate with the Product Lead, founders, clinicians, operators, and designers on product and technical strategies.
β’ Extensive experience as a Senior or Staff Engineer in an early-stage healthcare or technology company.
β’ Proven track record of shipping and managing substantial production systems.
β’ Strong decision-making skills in architecture, data modeling, product engineering, and integrations.
β’ Natural product intuition and the ability to navigate through uncertainty.
β’ High standards for reliability, particularly in software impacting patient care.
β’ Significant experience using AI tools, with an understanding of their strengths and limitations.
β’ Experience in healthcare or regulated industries is advantageous but not mandatory.
β’ Proficiency in TypeScript, Node.js, Next.js, React, Vite, React Native, Postgres, BigQuery, GCP, and Terraform.
β’ Availability to work Eastern hours.
β’ Must be located in New York City or eligible to work remotely within the US or Canada.
β’ Equity: 0.5β0.75%.
β’ $1,000 per month through Thatch ($250 additional per dependent) to select your preferred medical, dental, and vision plan.
