Lead DevOps Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Romania.

📋 Description

• Design, deploy, and oversee highly available, fault-tolerant cloud infrastructure utilizing Google Cloud Platform and Google Kubernetes Engine.

• Sustain and expand declarative infrastructure with Terraform across a vast multi-hundred-file estate.

• Implement GitOps workflows employing Atlantis.

• Create, maintain, and enhance automated continuous integration and delivery pipelines utilizing GitHub Actions, Jenkins, and ArgoCD.

• Oversee enterprise networking perimeters, Istio service mesh architectures, and Kong API Gateways.

• Establish telemetry, log aggregation, and alerting systems for high availability, resource utilization, and incident response.

• Apply security controls including VPC-SC, IAM, and organization policies.

• Administer identity and secrets storage while ensuring compliance with standards such as SOC2.

• Engage in the operational on-call rotation.

⛳️ Requirements

• Senior/Lead-level expertise in managing production workloads on GCP and GKE.

• Profound understanding of GKE cluster topology, Helm, Kustomize, and ArgoCD.

• Mastery of Terraform.

• Significant experience managing GitOps workflows at scale using Atlantis.

• Proven ability to design, build, and sustain multi-stage automated deployment pipelines.

• High proficiency in Istio, including VirtualServices, mTLS, and sidecar injection.

• Familiarity with Kong API Gateways.

• Practical experience with Auth0, Dex, ESO, SOPS, VPC-SC, and IAM.

• Operational experience with Cloud SQL (PostgreSQL), BigQuery, Elasticsearch, or ClickHouse.

• At least upper-intermediate proficiency in spoken and written English.

• Preferred: Experience with Ansible.

• Preferred: GCP Professional Cloud Architect, GCP Professional Security Engineer, CKA, or CKS certifications.

• Preferred: Familiarity with Loki, Grafana, or ClickHouse for centralized logging and metrics.
