Lead Developer, ServiceNow CMDB

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Provide technical leadership in the design, development, configuration, integration, testing, troubleshooting, deployment, and sustainment of ServiceNow CMDB and ITOM capabilities.

• Oversee development activities related to ServiceNow Discovery, Service Mapping, enterprise data integrations, CMDB data quality, Configuration Item relationships, and associated functionalities.

• Collaborate with the CMDB Solution Owner, architects, business analysts, platform teams, Government stakeholders, and other technical teams.

• Address complex issues related to Discovery, credentials, MID Server, data sources, identification and reconciliation, scripting, and integration.

• Develop and sustain integrations between ServiceNow and authoritative enterprise data sources.

• Assist with Configuration Item identification, reconciliation, relationships, normalization, and CMDB data quality.

• Convert business and technical requirements, along with architectural designs, into technical solutions and development tasks.

• Offer technical direction, conduct code reviews, provide development guidance, and mentor other ServiceNow developers.

• Create and maintain Business Rules, Script Includes, Scheduled Jobs, APIs, workflows, and other components of the ServiceNow platform.

• Develop and support REST, SOAP, and various ServiceNow integration technologies.

• Assist with Identification and Reconciliation Engine processes and Configuration Item lifecycle management.

• Support the creation of technical documentation and contract deliverables.

• Build custom dashboards based on unique application data models and external data sources.

• Customize and configure workflows and define notification processes.

• Lead the integration of new products based on client specifications.

• Resolve systems integration, compatibility, and multi-platform challenges.

• Consult with project teams and end users to ascertain application requirements.

• Aid in assessing and recommending application software packages and integration/testing tools.

• Ensure adherence to ServiceNow best practices, enterprise architecture, cybersecurity requirements, and CMDB governance.

• Take part in developing user manuals and technical reports for software.

⛳️ Requirements

• 15+ years of relevant experience (a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field may substitute for 5 years of experience).

• Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a Secret clearance.

• Advanced hands-on experience in ServiceNow development.

• Familiarity with ServiceNow CMDB and ITOM Discovery.

• Experience in implementing and supporting ServiceNow Discovery in extensive enterprise settings.

• Knowledge of ServiceNow Service Mapping.

• Proficiency in MID Server configuration, troubleshooting, and administration.

• Experience with ServiceNow Identification and Reconciliation Engine processes.

• Expertise in developing and troubleshooting ServiceNow integrations.

• Proficient in Business Rules, Script Includes, UI Actions, Scheduled Jobs, and other scripted components of ServiceNow.

• Experience with both client-side and server-side JavaScript, as well as ServiceNow APIs.

• Knowledgeable in REST, SOAP, XML, HTML, AJAX, and other web-based integration technologies.

• Strong grasp of CMDB concepts, Configuration Item relationships, data quality, identification, reconciliation, and lifecycle management.

• Solid understanding of ITSM, ITOM, and ITIL principles.

• Experience in investigating and resolving intricate technical and data-related issues.

• Familiarity with the software development lifecycle and Agile development methodologies.

• Ability to provide technical leadership and guidance to fellow developers.

• Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, communication, and technical documentation skills.

• Capability to work collaboratively with technical teams, business analysts, senior leadership, Government stakeholders, and end users.

• Ability to obtain and sustain the necessary Department of Defense security clearance.

• ServiceNow certifications are preferred: Certified ServiceNow Administrator, Certified ServiceNow Application Developer, or Certified Implementation Specialist.
