Lead Data Scientist, Azure

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with team members, mentor junior colleagues, and support the development of the Manufacturing Intelligence team.

• Spearhead Data Science initiatives and foster innovation.

• Work alongside leadership to promote ongoing enhancements.

• Cultivate client relationships within project parameters.

• Employ Agile methodologies for project delivery.

• Design scalable and effective technical architectures to meet client needs.

• Execute hands-on implementations of Microsoft data solutions for current and future clients and projects.

• Utilize Azure Machine Learning, Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Search, Azure Synapse Analytics, Databricks, and Power BI.

• Derive insights from extensive datasets and create data-driven solutions.

• Oversee end-to-end data science projects and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

• Develop predictive models and analytical solutions.

• Apply statistical and machine learning techniques to complex datasets.

• Create algorithms and statistical predictive models to assess scenarios and future outcomes.

• Analyze both structured and unstructured data to address intricate business challenges.

• Provide actionable insights and recommendations to stakeholders.

• Serve as a subject matter expert on delivered solutions and assist clients in understanding their data.

• Engage in data capture strategies to enhance automation, data quality, and analytics capabilities.

• Execute ad-hoc data extracts and automate recurring requests.

• Oversee and prioritize multiple complex projects, including requirements, goals, timelines, status, and deliverables.

• Meet with clients to assess needs and identify issues.

• Prepare Statements of Work and proposals as needed.

• Stay updated with architectural and industry developments.

• Enhance team processes and ensure that best practices and business objectives are met.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of practical experience in data science, AI, and big data.

• A degree in Information Technology or Business Administration, or a comparable combination of education and experience.

• Proven experience in developing and managing production-level models using various datasets.

• Experience in deploying models to production and ensuring ongoing availability through metrics and tools such as statistical process control.

• Capability to convert business needs into technical specifications.

• Proficiency in Python, R, Scala, Spark, and/or T-SQL.

• Extensive experience in connecting to data platforms, including data lakes, data warehouses, NoSQL databases, and APIs.

• Ability to establish data and experimental platforms.

• Experience handling projects involving large data volumes, preferably within the Manufacturing sector.

• Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, active listening, communication, storytelling, and visualization abilities.

• Effective communication skills with technical teams, business stakeholders, and other relevant parties.

• Attention to detail and full ownership of deliverables.

• Willingness to travel approximately 10% as needed.
