This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.
• Develop infrastructure that supports product intelligence, financial reporting, and self-service analytics.
• Collaborate with Product, Analytics, and Engineering teams to create scalable systems utilizing backend databases, event streams, and marketing platforms.
• Provide leadership in technical vision and architecture for both short-term and long-term objectives.
• Foster company-wide alignment through the establishment of standardized metrics.
• Assist in financial reporting, product analytics, and operational metrics.
• Facilitate customer-facing dashboards, self-service analytics, and next best actions within the product.
• Oversee the entire data stack from data ingestion to consumption.
• Develop tools that enhance transparency regarding company-wide business outcomes.
• Collaborate with DevOps to implement and sustain data solutions using cloud data technologies, particularly AWS.
• Establish data quality and security frameworks while advocating for best practices in data engineering.
• Work alongside Data Analytics, ML, Product, and Engineering teams to construct scalable and reliable systems.
• BS/MS in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Over 7 years of experience in Data or Analytics Engineering.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication abilities; adept in fast-paced, cross-functional settings.
• Knowledge of enterprise architecture and enterprise data architecture, including data modeling and enterprise dimensional modeling.
• Proficiency in SQL and data modeling techniques (relational, dimensional, semantic).
• Demonstrated experience in data warehouse design, implementation, and maintenance (Snowflake).
• Practical experience with DBT for modular and testable transformations.
• Familiarity with orchestration and ingestion tools such as Airflow, Prefect, Airbyte, Fivetran, and Kafka.
• Understanding of ELT, schema-on-read, DAGs, and performance optimization.
• Experience working with AWS services (S3, RDS, Redshift, etc.).
• Knowledge of Terraform, Docker, and containerized workflows (considered a bonus).
• Proficient in handling structured and semi-structured data formats (e.g., JSON) as well as columnar formats (e.g., Parquet, ORC).
• Experience in building and supporting semantic layers for self-service analytics.
• Skilled with BI tools such as Looker, Tableau, or Sisense.
• Capable of standardizing metrics and enabling reliable and consistent access to data.
• Proficient in Python and Unix/Linux scripting.
• Comfortable working with APIs (e.g., utilizing curl).
• AWS DevOps experience with Terraform, Kubernetes, and Docker (bonus).
• Strong project and change management skills, particularly within Agile (SCRUM, Kanban) environments focusing on iterative deliveries (bonus).
• Experience in real-time ETL processes involving Kafka streaming and AWS Kinesis (bonus).
