Lead Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.

📋 Description

• Lead the transition of prebuilt data connectors from outdated customer systems into the platform's data integration engine.

• Design, develop, and sustain GCP-native data pipelines utilizing services such as Dataflow, Cloud Functions, and Cloud Run.

• Ensure the successful incorporation of new data sources while upholding performance, scalability, and reliability.

• Oversee custom connector deployment and transition activities post-handover from development teams.

• Maintain the continuity of ongoing connector implementations and facilitate knowledge transfer.

• Collaborate with the Data Architect to ensure alignment with data lakehouse architecture.

• Work alongside the Data Governance Specialist on data classification and compliance with governance standards.

• Monitor and enhance data ingestion, transformation, and integration procedures.

• Assist in the onboarding of new data sources and guarantee data quality throughout the integration process.

• Document designs, deployment protocols, and technical configurations.

• Contribute to data analysis and modeling projects that support business and operational goals.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) data services and cloud-native architectures.

• Strong understanding of data integration and ETL methodologies.

• Experience in building and managing data pipelines using Dataflow, Cloud Functions, Cloud Run, or comparable technologies.

• Proven track record in migrating data connectors and integrating data from various enterprise systems.

• Familiarity with data lakehouse architectures and contemporary data platforms.

• Experience with data analysis and data modeling approaches.

• Knowledge of database technologies and data management principles.

• Experience in handling large-scale datasets and distributed data processing solutions.

• Understanding of data governance, data quality, and data classification standards.

• Experience collaborating with architecture, engineering, and governance teams.

• Strong grasp of best practices in cloud-based data engineering.

• Experience supporting manufacturing, industrial, or operational technology settings.

• Background in regulated environments managing sensitive information.

• Familiarity with analytics platforms such as Looker.

• Experience in data migration and modernization initiatives.

• Knowledge of AI-enabled platforms and data architectures that support AI solutions.

• Experience in supporting multi-workstream and distributed delivery models.

• Understanding of advanced GCP Big Data and Database services.
