Lead Data Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +16 more states.

📋 Description

• Report directly to the VP of Analytics & Operations Supply.

• Serve as the primary contributor on intricate and uncertain analytical challenges across Liftoff’s supply side.

• Propel analysis and insight generation to sway senior-level roadmap and operational decisions.

• Craft and enhance complex SQL queries for billion-row datasets, and develop reproducible analytical workflows.

• Perform root-cause analysis and address technical issues at the intersection of product performance and business KPIs.

• Construct and automate dashboards, ad-hoc analytical tools, and internal reporting pipelines utilizing SQL, Looker, and/or Tableau.

• Interpret technical concepts such as ML model modifications, SDK updates, and auction mechanics into business impact analyses.

• Spearhead transformational projects from ideation and scoping to technical execution and operational rollout.

• Guide analysts on technical best practices, business context, and effective communication.

• Collaborate with Engineering, Product, Data Science, and Finance teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• B.A./B.S. degree in Analytics, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or a related discipline.

• Over 8 years of experience in data analytics, consulting, or business analytics roles, ideally within high-tech or AdTech sectors.

• Proficiency in writing complex, performance-optimized SQL for large datasets.

• Familiarity with cloud data warehouses such as BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift, or Trino.

• Strong foundation in statistical inference, A/B test design, and causal reasoning.

• Knowledge of confidence intervals, statistical power, and the failure modes of noisy experiments.

• Expertise in Looker, Tableau, or comparable BI tools.

• Capacity to transform ambiguous business challenges into actionable analyses.

• Skill in linking technical insights to revenue, margin, and partner impact.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; adept at presenting technical concepts to varied audiences from engineering to C-level executives.

• Consulting-style structured presentation abilities.

• Capability to mentor peers, lead cross-functional initiatives, and drive organizational change through data-driven insights.
