This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead the safe, efficient, and timely commissioning, trial runs, and acceptance tests of the GE Mark VIe control system for Combined Cycle Power Plants.
• Conduct pre-checks, system energization, and network verification across devices and subsystems.
• Oversee and perform loop checks, functional tests, and protection testing while maintaining thorough documentation and operational logs.
• Manage the transition of systems from installation through commissioning to final handover to the customer.
• Diagnose complex hardware and software problems.
• Evaluate control logic against engineering design documents.
• Apply modifications to HMI screens and configure alarms.
• Enforce EHS procedures, including risk assessments, safety audits, and monitoring subcontractor compliance.
• Ensure that commissioning activities comply with site safety standards and regulatory requirements.
• Provide technical feedback and detailed site reports to engineering and project teams.
• Manage the inventory of commissioning test equipment, including inspection, usage tracking, and timely returns.
• Participate in lessons-learned initiatives and continuous improvement programs.
• Bachelor's degree in Controls Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Willingness and ability to travel for long-term field assignments, up to 100%, both domestically and internationally.
• Strong intellectual curiosity with a keen interest in energy, technology, and innovation.
• Excellent analytical and critical-thinking abilities.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity and adapt in fast-paced, high-pressure field environments.
• Strong communication skills for effectively conveying complex technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
