This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pakistan.

📋 Description

• Analyze domestic and international sanctions that impact the bank, its branches, or subsidiaries.

• Examine complex and high-risk sanctions alerts in line with regulatory obligations and internal compliance policies.

• Ensure compliance with the Group Sanctions Policy, associated guidance, and operational procedures.

• Assist the Compliance Manager in recognizing sanctions risk themes and trends, enhancing sanctions risk management capabilities.

• Review and address sanctions screening alerts through thorough investigation.

• Bring attention to concerns, trends, and patterns to the Compliance Manager.

• Collaborate with business units to resolve alerts and gather client information.

• Manage sanctions referrals in accordance with bank policies.

• Track metrics and compile monthly and ad hoc management reports.

• Identify and escalate issues that need attention or enhancement, proposing improvements as necessary.

• Keep confidential and secure records in compliance with retention policies and SOP guidelines.

• Foster working relationships with Business, Operations, and other Compliance functions.

• Support compliance initiatives and the implementation of system and procedural changes.


⛳️ Requirements

• Over 3 years of experience in banking, with a focus on compliance.

• Background in one or more risk compliance roles, including relevant sanctions experience.

• Familiarity with sanctions regulations and guidance.

• In-depth knowledge of the bank’s compliance, sanctions, AML, and KYC/CDD policies and procedures.

• Sufficient understanding of sanction programs, including OFAC, UN, UK, EU, and UAE Target Financial Sanctions.

• Clear comprehension of relevant business and operational processes that facilitate sanctions screening.

• Good grasp of core banking and sanctions screening systems and their functionalities.

• Proactive in problem-solving and navigating complex situations.

• Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and sound judgment.

• Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and influencing abilities.

• Capacity to adapt to changes and contribute insights as needed.

• Ability to work collaboratively as an effective team member.

• A professional qualification such as ACAMS or CGSS is preferred.
