Lead Collectibles Buyer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants anywhere in the world.

📋 Description

• Travel to card shows, conventions, shops, and vendor locations to acquire inventory.

• Source sports cards, trading card games, sealed products, singles, and collections.

• Design loot tables and assortments of collectible products.

• Build and maintain relationships with vendors, dealers, shops, and distributors.

• Negotiate pricing, terms, discounts, and substantial purchases.

• Monitor market prices, demand, margins, and inventory performance.

• Keep purchasing records, budgets, spreadsheets, and vendor data organized.

• Assess product condition, authenticity, value, and resale potential.

• Identify emerging products, players, sets, and collectible categories.

• Collaborate with inventory, fulfillment, finance, product, and marketing teams.

• Enhance purchasing processes, standards, and pricing strategies.

• Track on-hand inventory, enter new inventory into internal tools, and ensure accurate inventory records.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in buying, selling, sourcing, or evaluating collectibles.

• In-depth knowledge of sports cards.

• Extensive understanding of Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering, One Piece, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Riftbound, and other major trading card games.

• Strong passion for collectibles beyond just cards.

• Proven experience in negotiating deals and managing vendor relationships.

• Proficient in spreadsheet management, tracking, and data analysis.

• Sound judgment regarding pricing, margins, demand, and purchasing risks.

• Excellent communication, organizational, and decision-making abilities.

• Capability to work independently and manage high-value inventory.

• Valid driver’s license and readiness to travel.

• Willingness to travel up to 60%, with increased travel during peak show seasons.

• Availability for occasional evening and weekend work.
