Buyer/Planner

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Analyze demand forecasts and assess inventory needs to inform purchasing decisions

• Plan and execute purchase orders with suppliers

• Oversee open purchase orders, delivery timelines, and supplier commitments

• Regularly collaborate with suppliers to guarantee timely delivery of materials and products

• Assist in planning activities for remanufactured cores and associated inventory

• Ensure accurate purchasing, planning, and supplier data is maintained in the ERP system

• Recognize potential shortages, delays, and supply risks, and communicate these to relevant stakeholders

• Collaborate across functions with sourcing, supply chain, inventory, and operations teams

• Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for purchasing and planning tasks

• Utilize Excel and AI productivity tools to analyze data, generate reports, and enhance processes

• Aid in monitoring supplier performance and resolving issues

• Travel to supplier sites approximately once a month, as necessary

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline

• Approximately 5 years of pertinent experience in purchasing, sourcing, supply planning, demand planning, or supply chain

• Proficient in creating and managing purchase orders

• In-depth knowledge of ERP systems and purchasing procedures

• Advanced or strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel

• Experience in drafting standard operating procedures and process documentation

• Excellent planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills

• Outstanding supplier coordination and follow-up capabilities

• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English

• Ability to work autonomously while effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams

• Preferred: Experience in the automotive, manufacturing, or remanufacturing sectors

• Preferred: Knowledge of remanufactured core planning and inventory management

• Preferred: Familiarity with AI productivity tools, such as ChatGPT, to enhance analysis and process efficiency
