Tactical Category Buyer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Netherlands.

📋 Description

• Responsible for the tactical procurement of a wide range of products including meat, fish, rice, and baking goods.

• Ensure optimal availability and procurement under the best commercial, logistical, and contractual conditions.

• Develop and professionalize the supplier portfolio while building sustainable partnerships.

• Negotiate prices, purchasing conditions, logistical agreements, contract terms, and commercial actions.

• Monitor availability, delivery performance, and commercial conditions.

• Analyze market developments, prices, and supplier performance to translate into concrete purchasing opportunities.

• Collaborate with assortment management, sales, and marketing on product introductions, promotions, and customer projects.

• Contribute to the professionalization of purchasing processes and supplier strategy.

⛳️ Requirements

• You are available for 32 to 40 hours per week.

• You hold a completed higher professional education (hbo) degree.

• You are willing to travel for work.

• You have at least 2 years of experience in a purchasing role.

• Experience in food/FMCG/trade goods is a strong plus.

• You have an affinity for food.

• You are fluent in Dutch and English; an additional language is a plus.

• You possess strong negotiation and communication skills.

• You are commercially strong, analytical, and proactive.
