Lead Coding Specialist, Health Information Management

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Act as the main support to the Coding Supervisor

• Aid in overseeing coding, abstracting, and reimbursement processes to support billing for all Baptist Health facilities

• Guarantee compliance and efficient operations

• Ensure adherence to set goals, ICD-10-CM/PCS guidelines, CPT, and coding standards

• Track reports and workflows to pinpoint areas for enhancement, work volume, and distribution

• Review and align reports

• Deliver coding training within the Coding Department

• Investigate coding issues

• Supervise coding personnel activities to ensure accurate and timely processing in line with state and federal regulations

⛳️ Requirements

• Associate degree

• AHIMA Certified Coding Specialist

• Minimum of five years of experience in Inpatient or Outpatient Surgery, Ancillary, and Emergency Room coding within a large healthcare institution

• Preference for RHIA or RHIT or equivalent experience

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills

• Strong problem-solving and personnel management abilities

• Familiarity with health information systems, database management, spreadsheet design, and computer technology

• High level of computer proficiency with MS Office – Word, Excel, and Outlook

• Capability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a positive demeanor and providing excellent customer service

• Ability to work autonomously and complete tasks within defined parameters, routines, and accepted practices
