
Lead Client Funds Accounting – Tax

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee, assess, and authorize the daily operations of CFA analysts, including the daily and weekly reconciliation of payroll, tax, and benefit accounts.
• Manage, coach, and conduct performance evaluations for designated team members.
• Provide training for the team’s technical and professional growth.
• Set weekly tasks that contribute to both team and company success as well as individual advancement.
• Make proactive decisions to minimize liability.
• Prepare month-end reconciliations, investigate financial discrepancies, and assist Corporate Accounting.
• Collaborate with the Product Team and internal stakeholders to test and implement new business initiatives.
• Monitor cash across the entire client base to mitigate risks and ensure proper recording of activities.
• Propose strategies and action plans to address cash shortfalls and surpluses.
• Develop policies and procedures that enhance internal controls, boost efficiency, and facilitate rapid scaling.
• Work alongside Banking/Tax Treasury and Finance teams to suggest improvements for MasterTax or Web Pay operations.
• Address exceptions and improve cross-functional collaboration and reporting.
• Advise and direct staff on cash collections based on reports.
• Ensure compliance with department operating procedures and internal controls.
• Promote ongoing process improvements.
• Review and authorize process documentation.
• Assist Client Services with inquiries.
• Support Audit teams by providing timely SOX/SOC and other compliance documentation.
• Review and approve Client Credits in accordance with company policies.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting.
• Over 5 years of experience in payroll services or banking operations.
• More than 3 years of experience with service bureau account reconciliations.
• Experience in managing and mentoring staff is preferred.
• Familiarity with MasterTax Software.
• In-depth knowledge of payroll service bureaus.
• Strong problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Preferred strong work ethic both in teams and individually.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft applications, including Excel and Access.
• High degree of integrity.
• Ability to remain seated for extended periods, typically 7–8 hours a day.
• Capability to operate computer and phone systems, type, and use multiple software programs simultaneously.
• Availability five days per week during designated work hours.
