This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Proactively manage intricate claims from First Notice of Loss (FNOL) to resolution while advising business partners.
• Analyze and compose coverage letters, communicating coverage positions to insured parties, brokers, and agents.
• Assimilate transfer cases and keep updated diaries for all files.
• Ensure all files are current and up to date.
• Implement best practices across all files.
• Maintain a 1-to-1 open-to-close ratio while minimizing average indemnity and Additional Living Expense (ALE).
• Investigate claims and oversee or direct external vendors or experts when necessary.
• Produce high-quality reports and establish timely reserves or escalate cases that exceed authority.
• Provide technical guidance to claims leadership and underwriting teams.
• Mentor and train less experienced adjusters.
• Travel to conferences, mediations, and trials as required.
• Attain proficiency in all systems utilized.
• Create work plans, timelines, and objectives; allocate resources and adhere to deadlines.
• Communicate results and recommendations of the team or work unit to management and clients.
• Enhance business processes and assist in the implementation of new methodologies.
• Ensure work is thorough, cost-effective, and efficient.
• Adhere to corporate policies and procedures, reporting any control failures.
• Plan, conduct, supervise, train, and assign tasks; may assist with personnel evaluations and reviews.
• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
• Doctor of Jurisprudence is preferred but not mandatory.
• Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) or Associate in Claims (AIC) designation preferred.
• Must possess or obtain State Adjusting License(s).
• At least six years of experience managing construction defect cases across the United States.
• Background in Artisan claims and OL&T claims, potentially including New York Labor Law claims.
• Extensive knowledge of construction defect claims.
• Highly skilled in coverage and experienced in handling coverage litigation on behalf of a carrier.
• Strong understanding of Risk Transfer and Recovery.
• Proficient in Litigation Management, particularly in legal budget creation and review.
• Solid analytical skills along with decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
• Outstanding communication skills with the ability to connect both externally and internally.
• Flexibility and eagerness to learn.
• Proficient in using the Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word).
• Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.
• Valid Driver's License required.
