Lead Calypso Solutions Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama.

📋 Description

• Design, manage, configure, and develop sophisticated Calypso solutions along with multisystem integrations encompassing Front Office, Middle Office, Back Office, Collateral, Risk, Accounting, Settlements, and Reporting functions.

• Enhance workflows, platform capabilities, and system efficiency while assessing and approving solutions generated by fellow team members.

• Act as the technical and thought leader for the Calypso platform, mentoring solution developers, software engineers, analysts, and support team members.

• Conduct sessions with business and technology stakeholders to outline epics, features, user stories, functional requirements, and technical specifications.

• Execute fit-to-standard and gap analysis, proposing configuration-first solutions or controlled customizations.

• Convert business requirements into solution designs, technical specifications, configuration blueprints, interface mappings, implementation plans, test scenarios, and operational support documentation.

• Create and develop Calypso configurations and extensions that facilitate trade capture, lifecycle processing, workflows, data management, pricing, positions, collateral, confirmations, settlements, accounting, interfaces, and reporting.

• Propel secure API, messaging, file-based, and service-oriented integrations with trading, market data, collateral, payment, settlement, accounting, regulatory, and enterprise data systems.

• Spearhead upgrades, migrations, cloud initiatives, infrastructure projects, and modernization efforts.

• Foster system management, optimization, performance monitoring, scalability, resiliency, recoverability, and operational efficiency.

• Coordinate lifecycle strategies, presenting approaches, timelines, dependencies, risks, and budget considerations to senior leadership.

• Oversee unit, integration, regression, user acceptance, performance, resiliency, and production validation activities.

• Establish acceptance criteria, evaluate test cases, assist in defect triage, and guarantee requirements traceability.

• Manage incident and problem resolutions, conduct root-cause analyses, and lead escalation and corrective/preventive actions.

• Provide advanced production support for complex Calypso incidents involving logs, interfaces, messaging, batch processes, reports, market data, trade processing, and environmental dependencies.

• Implement continuous improvement, automation, observability, and platform optimization strategies.

• Maintain communication and documentation regarding designs, architecture decisions, configurations, interfaces, deployments, runbooks, testing, and recommendations.

• Lead compliance, security, data protection, risk mitigation, governance, quality standards, analytics, and reporting efforts.

• Collaborate with Nasdaq, implementation partners, vendors, infrastructure teams, architecture, cybersecurity, data, and application-owner teams.

• Uphold internal control standards and fulfill related responsibilities as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• An Associate’s degree with at least 7 years of solutions development and/or relevant enterprise technology experience, or a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 5 years’ solutions development and/or relevant enterprise technology experience, or, in the absence of a degree, a combined total of at least 9 years of education and/or work experience including at least 5 years’ in solutions development and/or relevant enterprise technology experience.

• Mastery of at least one relevant platform.

• Advanced proficiency with the Nasdaq Calypso fintech platform, including hands-on experience in solution design, configuration, development, integration, testing, deployment, or production support.

• Background in supporting capital markets technology and comprehension of trade lifecycle processing.

• Ability to translate business requirements into functional and technical Calypso solutions.

• Experience in troubleshooting intricate application, integration, workflow, data, and production challenges.

• Familiarity with Calypso functional domains such as FX, fixed income, interest-rate products, collateral management, margin processing, settlements, confirmations, accounting, risk, or regulatory reporting.

• Practical development experience with Java and enterprise application design patterns.

• Proficiency with SQL and relational database platforms like Oracle or PostgreSQL.

• Experience with REST or SOAP services, XML, JSON, messaging, and file-based enterprise integrations.

• Familiarity with Linux or UNIX, shell scripting, application logs, batch processing, and performance troubleshooting.

• Knowledge of Git-based source control, automated builds, CI/CD pipelines, and controlled deployment processes.

• Experience with Calypso upgrades, migrations, cloud-hosted environments, or platform modernization.
