Lead Auditor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Missouri, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Oversee accredited certification, assurance, validation, and verification evaluations across various industries.

• Assist organizations in enhancing their environmental, health, safety, quality, and operational performance.

• Deliver impartial assessments that support compliance, risk management, and ongoing improvement.

• Provide technical leadership, share knowledge, and foster client relationships to drive the growth of ERM CVS.

• Promote ESG and sustainability efforts through assurance services.

• Plan, execute, and oversee audits, which includes preparation, site activities, stakeholder interviews, evidence analysis, reporting, and conclusions.

• Produce clear, precise, and timely assessment reports along with recommendations.

• Maintain technical proficiency in relevant standards, regulations, and industry best practices.

• Contribute to the continuous improvement of ERM CVS methodologies, competencies, and operational processes.

• Share insights and lessons learned with the global ERM CVS team.

• Cultivate trusted relationships with clients and represent ERM CVS with professionalism.

• Identify client support and business development opportunities alongside leadership and partners.

• Guide and assist colleagues in audit execution, technical interpretation, and assessment best practices.

• Contribute to ERM CVS’s technical excellence, integrity, and client service.

⛳️ Requirements

• A graduate degree in a relevant field or an equivalent professional qualification in Health, Safety, Environment, Quality, or a related area.

• At least 3–5 years of professional experience related to the implementation, operation, assessment, or auditing of management systems.

• Experience in evaluating organizational performance against EHS, quality, operational, or management system objectives.

• Sector expertise in Oil & Gas, Mining & Minerals, Data Centers, Manufacturing, or similar environments.

• Working knowledge of at least two of the following standards: ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 22301, ISO 27001, ISO 45001, and ISO 50001.

• Familiarity with ISO 17021 and/or ISO 17029 requirements.

• Strong understanding of U.S. or Americas-based EHS regulations, including OSHA, EPA, industry-specific, and local mandates.

• Capability to plan and execute audits while adhering to deadlines and quality standards.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication, report writing, and presentation skills.

• Ability to identify risks and opportunities for improvement and convey findings clearly and objectively.

• Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.

• Willingness and ability to travel extensively, approximately 50% to 75% of the time.

• This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship.

• Preferred: Lead Auditor qualifications or professional certifications pertinent to management systems auditing.

• Preferred: Experience in conducting accredited certification, verification, or assurance assessments.

• Preferred: Background across multiple industries and global operational contexts.

• Preferred: Knowledge of ESG assurance, sustainability reporting, or related verification frameworks.

• Preferred: Experience in mentoring, coaching, or developing auditors and technical assessors.

• Additional language skills preferred: Spanish, French, German, Italian, or Japanese.
