Ambulatory Services Auditor – CDS 1

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +12 more states.

📋 Description

• Conduct pre-visit and post-visit chart reviews across the entire system for professional services in both hospital and clinic/office environments.

• Audit and oversee all facets of system operations related to coding, encompassing outpatient, inpatient, and ambulatory services.

• Carry out audits for the HIM Professional Services Coding team while providing constructive feedback and educational resources.

• Assess medical records to ensure clinical documentation accuracy, including HCC capture and recapture, as well as the integrity of diagnostic and procedural coding.

• Create and revise procedure manuals to ensure proper coding standards are maintained.

• Support system-wide education and training initiatives in professional services coding.

• Aid in establishing strategic directions for coding compliance and education initiatives.

• Offer technical support to physicians and departmental staff regarding documentation and coding concerns.

• Suggest enhancements to processes and policies aimed at reducing losses or boosting efficiency.

• Track trends and generate reports on documentation, coding challenges, and denied claims.

• Uphold the organization’s vision, mission, values, Lean continuous improvement practices, safety protocols, confidentiality, compliance standards, and customer service excellence.

• Execute additional responsibilities of similar complexity as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma or GED is required.

• Required certifications: RHIA, RHIT, CCS-P, CPC, CPMA, CRC, RN, or LPN.

• 0-3 years of coding experience is necessary, or an equivalent mix of education and experience.

• Familiarity with current Medicare regulations, including MPFS, IPPS, and OPPS is essential.

• Must be capable of wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) necessary for safe job performance.

• Ability to communicate clearly and audibly while also being able to hear normal speech levels.

• Physical capabilities include sitting, standing, walking, lifting 1-10 pounds, using a keyboard, bending, climbing stairs, reaching overhead, carrying/pushing/pulling 1-10 pounds, and performing other specified physical tasks.

• Must be available to work Monday through Friday from 07:00 to 15:00 during the First Shift (United States of America).
